Introduction

In line with the United Arab Emirates’ message of peace, VPEM has developed a signature program titled “The Journey of Peace Across Cultures.

 This travel-based learning experience aims to empower youth in the field of cultural tourism through a new concept and a unique itinerary where education, adventure, and reflection come together.

The program focuses on Emirati youth who can assume future leadership roles and contribute to shaping public opinion within society.

Through each journey, participants connect and engage with different societies and civilizations, carrying and sharing the UAE’s message of peace.

Strategic Goals

1. Education

• Raise awareness and promote the values of peace, tolerance, and openness to other cultures.
• Enable participants to explore differences between cultures through dialogue, workshops, and the practice of traditional rituals.
• Provide opportunities to meet influential figures related to the initiative’s objectives and engage in direct dialogue to exchange knowledge and identify shared values between countries.

2. Adventure and Entertainment

• Offer an exciting and exceptional experience that allows participants to discover key cultural and natural landmarks in the host country.
• Combine recreational activities with meaningful learning to deepen participants’ understanding of the local context.

3. Meditation and Wellbeing

• Help participants connect with nature, explore the self, and enhance both mental and physical wellbeing.
• Support youth in managing stress, improving focus, and reducing negative energy through guided reflection and mindfulness practices.
• Encourage positive connection, clearer thinking, and long‑lasting personal benefits.

Program:

Day 1, Oslo

 • Check in at Losby Gods

 • Bonfire, Waffles and hot chocolate in the garden at Losby Gods 

• Dinner • Fun games to get to know each other better 

Day 2, Oslo 

• Meet the UAE Embassy 

• Visit Skimuseeum and hear more about Norwegian tradition and love for nature. Explore beautiful view of Oslo city 

• Horsesledding 

• Experience Frognerseteren 

• Toboggan run at Korketrekkeren

 • Learn about Norwegian handknitting/traditional national costume

 • Dinner with storytelling at Oslo Gamle Rådhus and hear about their butler experience

Day 3, Oslo

 • Visit the polar exploration museum

 • Electric Fjord cruise on the Oslo Fjord 

• Guided tour of Oslo, or free time to explore the city on your own

 • Dinner at Losby Gods 

Day 4- 6, Alta 

• Travel to Alta for the real Norwegian winter experience and meet the sami people 

• Stay at Bjørnfjell lodge 

• Polar Night bonfire trip 

• Snowshoe tour 

• Dogsledding 

• Private sami and reindeer experiences 

• Guided igloo hotel visit 

• Meet the locals - Introduction to the rich history of Alta and its unique Arctic heritage 

• Dinner at Lavvu restaurant with presentation by s professional Dog Musher

Day 7, Alta-Oslo

 • Travel from Alta to Oslo 

• Visit UDIR and hear about Norwegian education system 

• Visit Stortinget and learn about Norwegian Parliament 

• Stay at the Thief • Ceremony with the UAE Embassy 

• Free time to explore Oslo. Tickets included to the Astrup Fernley museum 

• Pizzacooking class at Winther Oslo 

 Day 8, Oslo 

• Free time to explore Oslo

 • Departure to the airport for travel back home 

Participants will receive an official certificate upon successful completion of the program.

Things to know: 

Dress code: 

Smart casual and leisure. Also needed with outdoor clothing according to weather, see document “what to wear in winter”.

 Luggage included in domestic plane tickets:

 • Small bag under the seat (30×40×15 cm) 

• Hand luggage in the overhead compartment (55×40×23 cm) 

• 1 checked in bag (23 kg)
